China imposed restrictions on the supply of drones weighing 4 kilograms or more, with a takeoff weight of 7 kilograms or more and a flight time of 30 minutes or more, as well as components for UAVs to the Russian Federation, on September 1.
This has already led to significant disruptions in drone deliveries, particularly of thermal imagers and laser rangefinders installed on Russian-built UAVs.
Theoretically, Russian companies can negotiate new contracts, but to do so they will have to prove that the drones are not used for military purposes, a process that could take up to a year. It is also reported that imports of Chinese components through third countries are becoming more difficult - in particular, Kazakhstan has started to take steps to restrict imports.
