Thanks to information from a company insider, we can exclusively reveal that Ducati will be launching an all-new 1098-powered naked streetfighter at the EICMA show in November. The 2009 Ducati Fighter was presented to dealers last week to "stunned silence to the point of awkwardness." There's apparently a lot of confusion as to where the Fighter will fit in the Ducati lineup as it will be priced above the 2009 Ducati Monster 1100's ,000 and closer to the Ducati 1198's ,495. While the pricing has yet to be finalized, the Fighter is estimated to be in the -15,000 range.

The Aprilia Tuono, MV Agusta Brutale 1078RR, Benelli TnT rival will be powered by the outgoing 1099cc water-cooled V-twin from the 1098. That model is being replaced with the larger capacity 1198 for 2009. The Fighter will use a smaller airbox than the donor bike, so will make a little less than that model's 160bhp and 90.4lb/ft of torque.

The Fighter will use a steel trellis frame, as on the 1098, but will have a much more upright riding position. It uses a 1098-style tailpiece, but with dual stacked exhausts mounted on one side, shotgun-style.

We expect lower-gearing for punchier acceleration, making the Fighter a much more suitable bike for city riding than the 1098, but it should retain that model's fully-adjustable USD forks and Showa monoshock for excellent handling. We don't know if the Fighter uses a single-sided swingarm.

The Fighter marks a shift in thinking for Ducati's naked range. The Monster will now use air-cooled engines only (the water-cooled engines won't fit in the new frame) and will remain relatively affordable. The high-end segment of the naked market will now be solely covered by the Fighter.

This marks the third new Ducati model that we've been able to exclusively unveil in the last two weeks. Ducati's road-going MotoGP replica, the Desmosedici, is the raciest street-legal machine ever available to the public. Its GP-derived 990cc V-Four motor kicks out around 200 horsepower to the rear wheel, creating a top-end surge of power that inhales run-of-the-mill literbikes.

But behind the Desmosedici's aerodynamic bodywork is a riding position that is kindly referred to as "committed." The less-limber among us would describe its ergos as "torturous."

But what if you could get that gloriously devastating motor in a naked sportbike with upright ergos? Well, the Ducati factory briefly toyed with this fanciful idea, according to European contributor Tor Sagen who commissioned this photo rendering from Italian designer Luc1.

asi bych na tom jezdil radši než viseje hlavou dolů na Desmo-sedící, ale stejně.. nad 150hp to už jsou všechno překoňovaný mrdky. Kdyby radši udělali Monstera 1200

no v piatok som sedel a vrcal si s plynom na normalnej d16 a doteraz som este nesedel na nicom inom, na com by som sa citil podobne. ako majster sveta, ten bajk je cista okruhovka, zavodak, kazit to nahacom by bola velka skoda.

mimochodom, co sa tyka zvuku je to fakt parada, pocul som to sice len s racovymi vyfukmi, ale behaju z toho zimomriavky po chrbte. jedna mala rada, ked bude pri startovani d16, nestojte za zadkom, lebo sa zaseriete od vyfukov

..to je primo v clanku, ze je to jen hratka s photoshopem ..a dale to pokracije takto (viz link):

We have called it the Monstersedici,” explained Sagen. “In the world of B-Kings, Vmax and Brutales, such a concept wouldn't be too way off, and that's why Ducati actually did a small study of such a concept.”

Not surprisingly, any plans for a production bike were nixed by the enormous costs of producing the Desmosedici’s exotic and hand-built V-Four engine.

More likely to enter production, however, is a Monster stuffed with the 1098’s V-Twin motor, which may debut as soon as this fall’s Milan show.

“Ducati would not give us any official comment on this story,” said Sagen, “But off the record, one of my sources stated that he wouldn't buy such a bike because it would have too much power. Any Suzuki B-King owners or potential Yamaha Vmax II buyers that beg to differ?”

Uvidíme, spíš mě ale dostal ten novej Monster 1100S v červeným provedení... to je lahůdka, do toho půjdu

..ano, je to lahudka, uz jsem tomu uplne prisel na chut a uvazoval jsem o vymene, libi se mi, ale je to nahac v pravem slova smyslu, bez poradnyho stitku, proste na kraviny (ten dokoupitelny stitek je podle me smesna ochrana).. S4Rs je pro me zatim porad lepsi, 4 ventil vodnik a pres 4O hp navrch, dole temer stejne vlastnosti jak 2Ven. a nad 8tis. ot. total blast, to se neda vymenit za elegantni hracku, je to proste nahac, ale i superbike, dva v jednom..

..z RSV na dvouventil muzes byt zklaman, podle me.. jezdim ted bez stitku a je to uplne o nicem, uz bych nikdy nechtel nic bez jakekoliv ochrany, si moc nedokazu predstavit to vyuziti slavneho VMaxu po tom jezdeni bez stitku...

..ovsem az si jej poridis, tak se budu tesit na odezvu a samoze Ti to preju, krasavec to je a na ucel, pro ktery byl stvoren je the best

..podle me je to TOP monster, prida se jen 848 monster ci neco mensiho ve vzduchaci teda spis.. a lepsi monster nez 1100 uz nebude, bude proste neco jinyho novyho.. a v tom pripade rikam - koupil bych si radsi sbk 1098 nez 1098 nahac, pokud to nebude monster, ale nejaky cosi jako Tuono.. ikdyz, jak se rika, nikdy nerikej nikdy

sors> Hele, já nevím, je fakt, že RSV má koule, ale mě vlastně o tu rychlost ani tak moc nejde. Na RSV mi nevadí síla, ale že tak kecá, na můj vkus jezí až moc rychle a tak nějak se vždycky nachytám, že jedu jako kráva ale ten pocit na ní prostě nemám. Na vyblbnutí na okruhu nemám moc čas, ale i tak najezdím kolem 10t ročně a to hlavně provozu a po čechách. Nějaký ty Alpy 1x ročně atd... Můj posun si myslím je logický, nechci pryč od Italů, chci Ducati, chci 2V, chci Ohlinse, chci letmáč, musí to být naked, miluju suchou spojku a chci něco co hned nezestárne, abych to pár let podržel atd... Ducati jsem zatím nikdy neměl a pořád mi leží v hlavě. Uvažoval jsem taky o S4RS s je taky pořád v kurzu, ale design Monstera 1100S v červený s ohlinsema a zlatejma kolama mě úplně dostal, když jsem ho viděl, málem se mi hryzla pumpa a to bylo zatím jen na fotce! Tenhle pocit jsem zažil jen na výstavě motocykl, když jsem poprvé uviděl svojí Aprilku, kterou jsem si taky časem pořídil. Mimo jiné chci ve svym vlastnim zájmu něco nahatýho, abych tu rychlost víc pociťoval. Navíc myslím, že od spoda do nějakých 6tis/ot. M1100 pojede možná líp jak RSV a zátah to je něco pro mě. Brzo budu mít doma už dva prcky, což je další důvod, proč bych se možná měl v jedné stopě začít pohybovat o trochu pomaleji
