První dojmy - Oh YEAH, this is what I wanted! It looks like a Bat-bike; power and handling of a super-sport; and mechanical details which make this bike special & unique.

Recenze

The first bike I purchased in CZ was a Buell XB12, 25 year anniversary in Cherry Red. From day one, I fell in love with it: unique design; short, nimble handling; the sound of riding a Harley, yet the fun of a naked. I promised myself that if I ever replace the XB, it will only be for another Buell. So after Buell was closed down by Harley in 2008, there wasn't much choice to choose from, except for the 1125cr. I loved the design, even though it's a departure from the XB, and the fact that the motor wasn't from Harley appealed to me also. After 5 years with the XB, I was ready for a change: needed something faster and more sporty. At the same time I came across an add which offered what I wanted for the correct $$$. Without a moments hesitation I went all in.

The CR is a complete departure from the XB. The only things they might have in common are the crazy / unusual design language. Using the Rotax engine on the CR was a great choice. The engine is smooth, powerful, great sound; but I do admit that riding on Harley 1200 engine was something special as well. One thing is for sure, my gloves don't fall of the seat when warming the bike up.

Riding position is very aggresive, definitely more like on a super-sport than on a naked.

One of the things I love about Buells, is the use of a belt-drive. I honestly don't know why more manufacturers haven't gone this route. 0 maintenance, but also know weight penalty like on a cardon. Either way, the solution works for me, and it's one of the reasons why I love Buells.

The steering is sharp and precise, thanks to the low centre of gravity in combination with the smoothness of the belt drive. One thing is for sure, you have to keep the revs around 4,000rpm, below that, you get a noticeable quiver from the belt and engine.
Having said that, this Thing does not like city riding, which is a real shame, because people love to stare at the design and wonder what it is.
