Téma: Posunou velké ventilové vůle výkon do vyšších otáček

In theory, too tight also means theyre opening the most...for the best deepest breath...heavy diesels are 'hot set' at normal working temps (ouch!) for max efficency.
But they mostly use locknut/screw system.much more accurate IMO.
'Too baggy' means noisy, not breathing as well ,maybe, and cams hammering down on the shim bucket possibly causing eventually damage.

Correct valve clearance is important especially for the exhaust.
Why? Because the heat built up in the valve during the exhaust stroke must be transferred through the seat /seal area to the top and further to the coolant every time the valve seats. Too little clearance will lead to to high temperature for the valve causing it to burn and thereby stop sealing.

Also on most engines the camshaft has a ramp sector to take out the valve clearance before the actually valve lift starts. It also close the valve to the seat with correct force and the valve spring holds it positively seated ensuring heat transfer. Over time with a too large clearance the lifter and cam can be more than normal worn.

With a too small clearance for the inlet valves it could lead to a higher HP output but mostly because of the increased valve duration.

An engine with different clearances, one large and one tight but still within spec. will most probably have erratic idle. when reving it up it will be difficult to notice.

I would reccomend using std clearance and this is the basis in every engine that must be 100 % correct before you start with balancing TB's and fine tuning of mixture & mapping. etc.

If the clearance is too loose, you will lose power due to the fact that the valve doesn’t open for the proper duration of the cam lobe. That will cause the engine to get less fuel & have a shorter exhaust expulsion. Having the clearances too tight may cause the valves to not fully close and allow compression leakage &/or proper intake/exhaust strokes. Either one of these conditions negatively affect performance.
